hhmmm i been looking around this and other diabetes sites and I begin to wonder why there are not alot of talk or anything on the more complex complications of diabetic pregnancies.   Yes, they talk about the risks of the child having diabetes, high birth weight and other small things.  I myself have had 2 pregnancies as a type 1 diabetic in which the baby did not make it I had birth defects fo sure in one baby, but in both pregnancies I had no amniotic fluid, oligohydramnios is the technical term and as i researched this i noticed that one of this reasons they have put done as a cause is chronic illnesses i.e. diabetes. As i researched neonatal death alot of the reasons in which this could happened has chronic illness i.e. diabetes as a reason.   I find it scary to know that did everything right. For once in my life i controlled my sugars perfectly before and during my pregnancy yet I still could not have a healthy child. What i found more disturbing is that there is not alot of information on why.  It has it as a possible cause but why??? Why can my diabetes affect my pregnancy so much even when I am perfectly controlled.
