From the thread Diabetes Education in the General forum:

I am an RN, CDE. Have 28 years of RN experience and 15 of Certified Diabetes Educator. If anyone has questions about Diabetes they should take classes with educators, specially in a place that is certified by the ADA. I will be happy to answer any questions about diabetes here on this forum as well. I am not a diabetic myself but I love what I do and I love to help people live a healthier life.

From the thread Pancreas beta cell injections in the Products forum:

Hi, I am a Registered Nurse and a Certified Diabetes Educator, as a requirement to keeping this certification I have to take a number of education hours every year to keep my knowledge current. For a number of years Beta cell transplants have been done in the U.S. one particular place in my area is the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, but there are others. The internet is a wonderful resourse and I'm sure you can find out what the latest is.

Now, about the comment that in the U.S. medicine is not the same as in europe, I agree that having been a nurse for 28 years has given me a good insight and that in spite of scientific reseach we are not getting the latest in many areas and that "cures" are never found, only "costly treatments" that some can affort and some cannot.

Hope you can find some resources in the net.
