Healthstats: A High Tech Method Of Common Sense Control
If keeping track of your diabetes management is not your idea of fun, Health Management Software, Inc. has a product for you.
HealthStats is "the first diabetic health management software for maintaining normal blood glucose levels," according to company literature.
By tracking the three important areas of self-management- diet and weight control, medication, and exercise- the personal computer-based system helps patients gather accurate information for their healthcare team.
The program monitors meals, medication, and exercise and alerts the user of critical times. It allows the user to take unlimited notes, and it automatically tailors itself for either type I or type 2 diabetes. HealthStats is also useful for gestational diabetes. It tracks medication costs and doctor visits for insurance purposes, lists over 5,000 foods with nutritional information, and calculates a user's calorie requirements.
HealthStats runs on all IBM or compatible systems with DOS or Windows 3.1 or higher.
