Plug In with Precision Link
Enlisting your personal computer in your diabetes care plan can give you a comprehensive, objective picture of your glycemic control. MediSense offers its glucose data management system, Precision Link, for use with its Precision Q.I.D., Precision Q.I.D. Pen, MediSense 2 and MediSense 2 Pen glucose monitors.
These monitors store up to 125 glucose readings. When it is time to look at the readings, the monitor can be hooked up to a PC through the Precision Link, which downloads and stores the results. From these 125 readings, the Precision Link gives you three different histories:
- Modal Day Plot: This is a graph of the ups and downs in glucose levels during the day.
- Log Book Presentation: Similar to a written log, this gives a complete record of all 125 readings.
- Statistics Pie Chart: This gives an easy-to-read printout of the percentages of time that glucose levels are in, above or below acceptable ranges.
The data can make it easier to share information with your health care professionals, to analyze your results and to make decisions for better control.
Precision Link must be used with an MS-DOS operating system (5.0 or higher) or Microsoft Windows (3.1 or higher). It costs approximately $140.
