Remember, 100 percent pork insulin is still available from Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly. Ask for it at your pharmacy. Importing the insulin you need is also possible. Learn about importation from the two American groups listed below.
The U.K. group advocating for insulin choice, the Insulin Dependent Diabetes Trust (IDDT), has a Web site, traders.co.uk/insulintrust.
The IDDT now has an American counterpart, which has opened a Web site, diabetes.pair.com. The IDDT-U.S. also has a help line, (888) 253-7144.
