Diabetes Works
This software features five Windows programs, including:
- Glucose Plotter 3.1 - Readings can be downloaded from LifeScan's One Touch II and Profile monitors with LifeScan's cable, or use manual entry from your keyboard for any brand of glucose monitor. Sorts data, does trend analysis and prints results for your doctor.
- Insulin Therapy Analysis 3.0 - Allows you to enter food, insulin and exercise. Shows your predicted blood glucose levels for every minute of a 24-hour day.

Mellitus Manager 4.5
This software uses a special cable to connect your glucose meter to your computer. It automatically loads the data from your meter, processes it and then prints it out in different formats.

GlucoPilot
A diabetes management log for the Palm Pilot or Palm III. It logs glucose, insulin and carbohydrates, and is the first Pilot application to feature pie and bar charting.
Bill Sorrells writes over the Internet that he uses GlucoPilot on his Palm Pilot.

Food Smart
Designed by a registered dietitian, Food Smart is for nutritional professionals, including dietitians, nutritionists, health care and sports/fitness professionals.

NutriGenie Diabetes Meal Planner 4.1
Incorporates the ADA's Food Exchange System in addition to the USDA's Food Guide Pyramid. Automatically generates daily menus that meet your exchange specification using only the foods you select, or it can generate millions of well-balanced menus that meet your calorie requirement using thousands of foods from its database.
The NutriGenie has a database of 8,000 items plus the user's own food database. It analyzes RDA, calories, protein, carbohydrate, total fat, cholesterol, sodium, fiber, potassium and calcium.
Other NutriGenie features include a blood glucose tracker, weight log, diet history, blood pressure log, cholesterol profiler, weight control planner, body mass index, caloric need and caloric expenditure calculators, target heart rate calculator and a caloric and nutrient distribution analyzer.

Diabetes Mentor 1.5
A computer program from Vigora that records, graphs and prints your BGs, medications, oral antidiabetic agents, calories, carbohydrates, proteins, fats, exercise and weight. Diabetes Mentor allows you to do graphical overlays so you can see them simultaneously in order to adjust your regimen to achieve your targeted BGs. It interfaces with popular meters, such as LifeScan's One Touch II, Profile and FastTake meters, as well as the AccuCheck Advantage and Complete meters.

In Touch
LifeScan recently released an updated version of its In Touch program, which works with the One Touch Profile, One Touch II and FastTake meters. You simply plug your meter into your computer and click. All blood glucose readings and other data will be directly transferred to the computer.

Freeware
SweetSheet
SweetSheet reads data directly from One Touch meters using an inexpensive interface cable and a modem cable. The interface cable is available from LifeScan and costs $5. To order the interface cable, call the LifeScan data management support line at (800) 382-7226.
Michel Eytan says that he uses SweetSheet on his Power Mac 7200/90 in conjunction with his One Touch Profile meter.
"It's free and works with the Profile. It downloads the last 250 measurements that the Profile keeps in its memory, and then you can see the results. It's very simple and demands no other software than HyperCard Player."
SweetSheet is Macintosh compatible, and can be downloaded from childrenwithdiabetes.com/d_06_155.htm.
AIDA
AIDA version 4.0 is an educational simulator of insulin and dietary adjustment in type 1 diabetes. It contains a simple model of glucose-insulin interaction in the human body. It is intended for simulating the effects on the blood glucose profile of changes in insulin and diet for a typical type 1 patient.
AIDA runs on MS-DOS, Windows 3.x, or Windows 95/98. The Web address is diabetic.org.uk/aida.htm.
Glucom 2.0
An easy-to-use application that will record and communicate your glucose stability, it will link to the Roche Diagnostics range of glucose meters as well as LifeScan's One Touch.

BG Tracker
This is a freeware program, but does not download from any blood glucose meter directly. All readings have to be entered manually.
