Peter Chase, MD, professor of pediatrics and clinical director of Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes in Denver, has introduced a revised, kid-friendly coloring book called "A Book for Coloring and Learning About Diabetes."
The book, which became available in May, follows the same chapters as Chase's larger book, "Understanding Insulin-Dependent Diabetes Mellitus." However, information on each subject in his new book has been summarized in an easier-to-read style for kids. There are also several Pink Panther pictures to color.
"United Artists has been most generous in allowing use of these pictures at no cost," says Chase, adding that "A Book for Coloring and Learning About Diabetes" has been translated into Spanish. "It would be a good source of material for pre-teens who decide to do a school report on diabetes."
"A Book for Coloring and Learning About Diabetes" costs $5. "Understanding Insulin-Dependent Diabetes Mellitus" costs $15.
