Hearing is Believing - Braille Institute Offers Free Tapes to Visually Impaired People with Diabetes
According to a press release from the Braille Institute of America, people with diabetes who have lost their vision now have access to a free program that helps maintain their motivation and independence.
Called Sound Solutions, the program offers 14 audio tapes that educate and inspire visually impaired people. Topics covered in the program include:
- How to cope with common fears and stereotypes.
- How to interact with friends and family.
- How to organize daily life in order to maintain self-esteem and independence.
According to Sheila Daily, regional director of Braille's center in Orange County, California, "Sound Solutions utilizes humor, compassion and education to help people reclaim their lives and feel good again."
In addition to being free of charge, Sound Solution is shipped at no cost to the recipient.
