Insulin Delivery System That Measures Insulin in Half-Unit Increments Receives FDA Approval
Novo Nordisk, of Princeton, New Jersey, has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for a new insulin delivery system with a special feature and design.
The colorful NovoPen Junior, an extension of the company's NovoPen line, delivers 1 to 35 units of insulin in half-unit dose increments. It was designed for children and teenagers on insulin therapy, who typically use smaller amounts of insulin, and for adults who need the flexibility to fine-tune their insulin dosages, according to a news release from Novo Nordisk.
