FDA Approves Alternate-Site Testing for All Bayer Meters
Bayer Diagnostics announced on May 28, 2002, that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved the use of its complete line of blood glucose meters for alternate-site testing.
According to a company news release, Bayer is now "the only company to offer alternate-site testing across its range of self-test monitors."
The meters now approved for forearm, palm, abdomen, and thigh testing include the Glucometer Elite, the Glucometer Elite XL, and the Glucometer DEX/DEX 2 systems.
