LXN Corporation, which made the InCharge blood-glucose meter, GlucoProtein test strips (which measure fructosamine levels) and InCharge Glucose test strips, has recalled all GlucoProtein test strips, discontinued all its products and ceased operations.
According to a customer notification letter dated August 16, 2002, LXN said it was recalling the GlucoProtein test strips because it had determined that the strips could produce a false high result if they had been stored at temperatures below 86 degrees F. LXN is asking customers to return any unused strips.
LXN has arranged with LifeScan to offer all InCharge users either a OneTouch Ultra or OneTouch SureStep blood-glucose monitoring system at no cost.
For more information on ordering a replacement meter, call (888) 270-5365 between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Central time Monday through Friday, or 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
For more information on the recall, call NNC Group, the recall center for LXN Corporation, at (800) 668-4391 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Central time.
