It's okay to have another cup of coffee. In fact, have the whole pot.
Researchers in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, say the more coffee you drink, the less likely you are to develop type 2 diabetes. In a prospective study of more than 17,000 men and women ages 30 to 60, researchers found that the relative risk of getting type 2 diabetes decreased as caffeinated coffee consumption increased.
People who drank less than two cups of coffee per day developed type 2 diabetes at a rate of 319 cases per 100,000 person-years, compared to only 200 cases per 100,000 person-years in those who drank seven cups or more.
