Women who Eat Lower-Carb Foods Have a Nutrition Bar to Call Their Own

| Apr 1, 2004

Clif Bar Inc. of Berkeley, California, has introduced a low-carb snack made especially for women.

The makers of the popular Luna nutrition bar now offer Luna Glow for women maintaining a lower-carb diet.

Luna Glow contains just 2 to 3 grams of net carbs and 140 calories. Each bar contains layers of caramel and chocolate or strawberry; almonds or peanuts; soy protein and “23 vitamins and minerals essential to women’s nutrition.”

Luna Glow contains no trans fats and, according to Clif Bar, is the first low-carb bar certified as kosher.

Luna Glow comes in Chocolate Peanut Crunch, Fudge Almond Brownie and Strawberry Caramel Sundae. With a suggested retail price of $1.39 to $1.49, they are available in groceries, natural food stores, mass merchandise and drugstore chains.
