Every November is National Diabetes Month. So wouldn’t it make sense that October be National Pre-Diabetes Month?
In an effort to raise awareness of the growing epidemic of pre-diabetes, Victus, Inc., the maker of the medical nutritional Enterex Diabetic, has named October National Pre-Diabetes Month.
“Because so many people are unaware they have pre-diabetes, we are launching an effort to increase awareness of this health concern including naming each October as National Pre-Diabetes Month,” said George E. Lanza, executive vice president of Victus. “It seems appropriate that the month prior to what is traditionally National Diabetes Month should highlight the growing threat of pre-diabetes.
An estimated 41 million people, or about 15 percent of the population, in the United States between the ages of 40 and 74 are living with pre-diabetes, according to the American Diabetes Association.
“Adding Enterex Diabetic with Fiber to a healthy diet that includes regular physical activity can help people with pre-diabetes meet the goal of delaying or halting the progression to type 2 diabetes,” said Lanza.
