The Trans Fat Saga Continues
In less than one year, the Food and Drug Administration will require all food manufacturers to list the amount of trans fats on their labels. A wealth of research has been warning consumers of the dangers of trans fats.
One recent study, conducted by researchers at Harvard University Medical School, found that trans fatty acids are “strongly associated with systemic inflammation in patients with heart disease.” They suggested that attention to trans fatty acid intake is a good first step to preventing heart disease.
There is no safe level of trans fatty acid intake.
