Medtronic, Inc., now has an event finder at their Web site (www.minimed.com) to help patients locate free diabetes management classes in their communities. Patients can simply enter their zip codes to learn the dates, times, locations and directions for free local classes.
Classes range from beginning to advanced in level and include Carbohydrate Counting and Meal Planning; Advanced Carbohydrate Counting and Introduction to Pump Therapy; Optimizing Pump Therapy; Advanced Insulin Pump Skills; and Uncovering Glucose Trends. Some classes and educational materials are offered in Spanish.
