Precision Link Direct
From Abbott Diabetes Care
This month, we are taking a look at the Precision Link Direct program from Abbott Diabetes Care.
The opening screen in Precision Link allows you to accomplish several tasks. I selected New Patient, which let me set up myself as a new patient in the system. I entered my name, gave myself a patient ID and entered the “patient settings.” There I selected the time periods for before and after meals, bedtime, night and so on. I also set up numbers for high and low blood glucose target ranges.
The next step is to upload the data from a glucose meter. Precision Link does not let you manually enter data. Instead, it quickly downloads the data from the meter and lets you view or analyze that data with various charts and graphs.
To view the blood glucose data from your meter, click on the “View Patient” button, and it will bring up another screen. This screen displays the name of the patient at the top and has a large area for showing a graph or chart of the information. At the bottom of the screen, and along the right border, are options for changing what is displayed in the graph area. For example, you can change the type of graph shown or the date range shown.
Precision Link displays the data in the following formats: date and time trends, statistics view, a scatter plot and a logbook. This gives you many different ways to look at the data and determine whether there are any problem areas in your diabetes management that need to be addressed. You may print out all of the charts for review by your CDE or physician.
Another feature of the software is its ability to manage data for multiple patients. While this may not be needed by the average home user, it is valuable to clinicians using the software in their practices. The software can also share data over a network, which can help clinicians in a healthcare system or hospital setting.

The Data Cable for the Precision Xtra has been very hard for me to locate. Can anyone help with a website so I may order a cable. Thanks.
Downloaded the program did install it but it does not read my meter, i do run windows 7 and managed to read my meter with the abbot copilot 4.1 and the trial version of sidiary so it is not the cable or its driver.
I use a precision xceed meter that i got recently
