On June 28, 2006, the Charlotte Bobcats made Adam Morrison the No. 3 overall pick in the NBA draft. Three weeks earlier, the Seattle Mariners made Brandon Morrow the No. 5 pick in the Major League Baseball draft.
In addition to being future stars in their respective sports who will make millions of dollars, what do these two men have in common?
Morrison, who was an NCAA All American at Gonzaga University, averaged 28.1 points, 2 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.
At the University of California, Berkeley, Morrow was one of 10 semifinalists for the Roger Clemens Award as the nation’s top collegiate pitcher. He finished the season with a 7-4 record, was second in the Pac-10 with a 2.05 ERA and was fourth in the conference with 97 strikeouts. His opponents batted .211 against him (third in the Pac-10).
Diabetes Health hopes to present feature articles on both of these athletes in the near future.
