Here’s an example of this year’s Google doodle for February 29, 2008—a Leap Day.
Chances are you've noticed that Google has taken to observing special days by putting celebratory drawings or "doodles" into the word "Google" above the search bar on their main page.
Manny Hernandez of TuDiabetes.com and David Edelman of DiabetesDaily.com would like to see a World Diabetes Day doodle on Google's front page on November 14th. To persuade Google that it's a good idea, they have started a petition and are seeking more than 20,000 signatures.
Hernandez and Edelman hope that having the recognized blue circle in the doodle will go a long way towards helping raise much-needed diabetes awareness. So please add your name to the petition by November 1, 2008, and tell as many people about it as you can.
You can see examples of various holiday Google doodles here.
