Jul 7, 2009

The National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP) is working hard to change people's attitudes about diabetes.  A federally funded program sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the NDEP has more than 200 partners at the federal, state, and local levels, all working together to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with diabetes.

This year's NDEP Partnership Network Meeting will bring public and private organizations of all levels together to create new partnerships and strengthen existing ones; to share new ideas and innovative ways to implement campaigns and disseminate information; and to present new NDEP materials for educating communities about the risks associated with the disease.

The fight against the growing diabetes epidemic needs you! Join more than 200 of your colleagues, friends, and partners in Atlanta on August 17 and 18 to focus on "The Power of NDEP in Your Community" at the National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP) Partnership Network Meeting.

Keynoting the meeting are former U.S. Surgeon General David Satcher, M.D., Ph.D., and James R. Gavin III, M.D., Ph.D., and Chair Emeritus, NDEP.
