1 lb fresh green beans 3 Tbsp butter 2 cloves garlic, crushed ¼ tsp salt ⅓ cup slivered almonds, toasted |

Cut green bean ends off, remove strings where necessary, and cut in half. Rinse in colander. Bring water (enough to cover beans) in large saucepan to boil, add beans, and bring to boil again. Pour beans into colander and rinse with cold water. In large electric frying pan, melt butter and add garlic. Stir-fry garlic briefly until just beginning to turn color. Add beans. Sprinkle with salt and stir-fry 10 minutes, or until tender-crisp. Add toasted almonds. Stir-fry briefly. Yields six servings. Helpful Hint: To toast almonds, add to dry nonstick frying pan on medium heat. Stir-fry until slightly brown. |
